XAMPP是一個架站包，裡面去掉了一些繁瑣安裝過程，可以讓一般不懂程式語言的人快速架站。可搭配的語言為 PHP、JSP、Perl、MySQL，另外還包了常見的 Mercury Mail、 FileZilla FTP 和 phpMyAdmin 等，以方便管理站台的內容。若你是JSP、Perl的使用者，必須下載官方所提供的外掛程式，來開發自己的網站，但若你是PHP的使用者，則只要下載此整合包就可以了。至於更多的細節，請參考「官方的文件」說明。
