好奇殺死的不是貓，而是其他小動物

國中時就學過「好奇殺死一隻貓」這句英文諺語，其實那個時候根本沒養過貓，很難理解為何勸人不要太有好奇心，別知道太多不該知道的事，要用貓來形容。等到養了貓，終於知道貓對於任何新的東西都有無比的好奇心。你搬了一箱東西回家，一放在地上，貓兒就會過來聞聞看看，你把裏面東西都搬走了，他們一定會跳進紙箱看個究竟，然後再把箱子抓爛。

如果是會動的小東西，那他們的打獵基因會被喚醒，完全不管其他的事，先專注的盯著，然後趁機撲上去抓住獵物。特別的是，貓通常不會吃下這些小東西，因為對他們來說，不會動就不好玩了，所以他們會故意放開，讓他們跑走，然後再抓回來玩，一直重複。

不過獵物好像也有在進步，至少路邊的蜥蜴就越來越聰明，他們一遇上貓，就知道要裝死，絕對不要動，貓咪就是伸手摸一摸，甚至咬進嘴裏再放下來，然後覺得好無趣就會離開了。

所幸家裡的蟑螂還沒有這麼聰明，所以家裡養了貓，蟑螂會越來越少。只是有時候貓會報恩，就是把獵物當成禮物放在你枕頭邊，一早醒來看見小強殘骸在旁邊，那真是會立刻嚇醒啊。
