國軍F-16改良案 開始接收美製新雷達

國軍在「鳳展」計畫下，耗資1100億元，改良空軍現有的150架F-16A/B戰鬥機，其中核心裝備是由美商諾斯洛普格魯曼所生產的AN/APG-83雷達。根據英國航空網站Flightglobal報導，諾斯洛普格魯曼已經將第一具新雷達運交台灣，距離雙方簽約16個月。

APG-83是諾斯洛普格魯曼「可變敏捷波束雷達」（SABR）的官方編號，是一種主動電子掃描陣列雷達（AESA）。AESA雷達的特色是採用固定的平面天線，靠著電子掃描方式來取代傳統的機械式轉動天線。根據製造商指出，F-16改裝APG-83，不必修改結構或改變現有電力和冷卻系統，完全適用於全球F-16機隊。

「鳳展」計畫的主要改良，除了APG-83雷達之外，還包括新的任務電腦，以及新的座艙顯示儀表。此外美方也批准出售新式GPS導引的JDAM炸彈，以及最新款的AIM-9X響尾蛇空對空飛彈。
