一開始的規劃是用顏色沒錯，可惜台灣人不習慣，一定要講地名，所以變成現在這樣。

其實東京地鐵也是用地名，而且還有一大堆直通運轉與私鐵、JR什麼的，歪國人還不是照樣坐？

用顏色有一個很大的缺點，就是超過六七種之後，會出現很像的顏色，看分得出來，但是用講的容易搞錯。比如說紅色/橘色/桃紅色怎麼辦？淺藍/深藍怎麼廣播？黃色與土黃色呢？所以說有些國家是用數字來分，一號線二號線之類的，絕對不會錯。
