國研院打造地科資料庫 整合各方資料

國家實驗研究院今發表台灣首個千兆級的地科資料庫，大小相當於2000顆500G的硬碟，當中整合地質、海洋、太空、颱風洪水等資料，提供學界研究申請使用，讓學者不用再像以前一樣「東市買駿馬、西市買馬鞭」，到處要資料，要花很久的時間才能完整收集。

該資料庫計畫主持人林芳邦說，去年澎湖發生郵輪擱淺事件，船方為了了解責任歸屬，分別向國研院的海洋中心跟太空中心要當時海況的相關資料，包括海溫、衛星照片等等，卻來回要花三天才能收集齊全，很沒有效率，甚至會錯過訴訟有效時間，可見資料庫整合不同來源的資料，有其重要性。

林芳邦說，台灣天災多，資料庫也可以幫助政府在面對災害時，快速取得重要的資料，作為災時應變的有效評估工具。
