行政院長江宜樺晚間接受電視台專訪談及選舉，他說，中央和地方選舉不一樣，若以地方選舉特質來看，真正關鍵的是候選人的個人條件和特質，以及政見和動員網絡，其它社會事件「通常不是關鍵性的因素」。

不過，江揆表示，目前食安事件距離選舉很近，如果不能很快平息，延續超過一個月，對選舉會有衝擊，因此希望偵辦工作盡快處理。行政團隊只能盡量行使公權力，讓百姓覺得安心。

至於個別候選人的批評，江揆表示，不會加以評論。他說，除了虛心傾聽，沒有其它考量。
