2014年10月8日 Seagate 與 Western Digital 官司終於正式告一個段落了。 Minnesota 高等法院對 Seagate 控告 Western Digital 商業秘密被盜用一案做出最後判決，全案顯示 Western Digital 敗訴，需賠償 Seagate 高達 8 億美元。這件案子起因是 Seagate 前員工 Sining Mao（科學家）在 2006 年離開該公司後，轉向 Western Digital 任職後，Seagate 認為他將 TMR（tunneling magnetoresistance）技術告知競爭對手，因此在 2011 年對 Western Digital 與 Sining Mao 提出告訴。 2013 年，Seagate 在 Minnesota 法庭贏得對 WD 盜用商業機密的指控，不過 Western Digital 後來上訴到高等法院。目前 Minnesota 高等法院最終判決宣佈，原先 6.3 億美元的賠償，因為利息關係，最終可能接近 8 億美元。這次敗訴對 Western Digital 而言，是一個相當大的打擊，但短時間並不會影響該公司的佈局以及出貨量。資料來源: http://xfun.cc/80s9x 備註: 硬碟會漲價嗎？ -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc), 來自: 210.70.212.253 ※ 文章網址: http://www.ptt.cc/bbs/PC_Shopping/M.1413423614.A.240.html
