「西班牙蠻牛」納達爾才剛確定登上世界第1，就被前任「球王」約克維奇狠狠教訓；ATP北京男網賽約克維奇雖然失去世界第1寶座，但決賽以6：3、6：4輕鬆橫掃納達爾奪冠，這是他在北京的第4冠，同時小約也成為今年讓納達爾在硬地吞下第1敗的選手。

由於去年約克維奇在北京男網賽同樣奪冠，因此今年沒有加分空間，納達爾打進決賽後，明天積分會超越小約。但成為世界第1的納達爾，此役打來毫無招架之力，全場沒有逼出任何破發點，二發得分率更是低到只有38%。

小約首盤快速取得3：0領先後，氣勢一面倒，納達爾第2盤雖然極力振作，發球情況仍不理想。再加上約克維奇底線準度也比納達爾出色，比賽只花了1小時27分就結束。
